Taupo
Greetings from New Zealand. The beautiful town I come from Taupo has a population of 25000 people and is situated on the shores of a huge laje that is popular for boating and fishing. We also have mountains for skiing that are just over one hours drive away. Happy postcrossing! Thanks Debbie from New Zeland.

Its famous for raising world class throughbred race horses and is called the "Horse Capital of the world" Ocala is a Seminole indian word but no one knows what it means. North Carolina Lighthouses painting
For centuries, lighthouses have been erected to protect ships and guide them safely away from low shoals. Each lighthouse has individual markings making it readily identifiable from a distanc. Advancements in technology have made the lighthouses obsolete but most are open to the tourists and visitors providing a historic view of times gone by.
CANADA
Canada becoame a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. It is home to 41 national parks and hundreds of provincial parks, Canada is a natural playground! The United Nationas ranked Canada one of the best countries in the world in which to live. Canada is globally recognized for its outstanding quality of life, stable, progressive political environment and has one of the healthiest economies in the world. Economically and technologically the nations has develloped in parallel with the US, its neighbour to the south across and unfortified border. Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories with a total population of about 33.2 million people and is the second largest country in the world. The country stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and contains 6 times zones also has the world"s longest coastline nearly one fourth of all the fresh water in the world and one-tenth of the worlds"s forests. The name "Canada" comes from the Huron and Iroquois Indian word "Kanata" meaning "Village".
1.Tuatara (sphenodon punctatus)-NZ"s most distinctive creature and a living relic of a period dating back 200 million years. The Tuatara grows to a maximum size of about 60cm and up to 1kg (for males) after 60 years. Once an inhabitant of mainland NZ, they mainly survive on two groups of islands, one off the North East Coast of the North Island and the other in Cook Strait.
